Core Chopper
Core Chopper takes digital images of boxed core and quickly turns them into depth-indexed image strips for import into your petrophysics program.
A system of templates means that you can batch convert images (as long as they are all similarly aligned), saving hours of time.
You can also take long images and split them up into smaller chunks. This can be very useful to overcome computer memory limitations.
The picture below shows a typical input photograph. The program will calculate the depths of each box section, remove the surrounding text, box features and scales, and write out five depth indexed jpeg or bmp images for import into another software package.
